Slide sees widgets as key to future of Net ads
Fidelity and T. Rowe Price, which invested $50 million in a 9.1% stake in San Francisco-based startup Slide, are among those banking on the firm’s widgets as a key to reaping the full ad potential from the social-networking space, according to this article. “The metrics for success are going to shift away from who can provide the most reach toward who is paid the most attention,” said Slide CEO Max Levchin. Marketers seek right metric for social-network ads
Marketers are still figuring out how to accurately measure the success of social-network ad campaigns. The effectiveness of so-called conversational marketing ads placed on sites like Facebook or MySpace cannot be measured solely via traditional metrics and are often gauged using more qualitative standards, according to this article. Whiteboard 08 Screengrab

It’s a rad site. We all love it and can’t wait to keep adding to it. It really is an experience, it really is a world, it really is a high quality show piece.

IQ Thanks to everybody on the project (too many to name here), especially to Jonathan Thompson and Brian Gorby who developed the site. I was the tech lead on the project, and as always with something that big, I generally didn’t code as much as those two guys. They rock. Oh, and thanks to Ron, the freelance illustrator who basically drew everything. That guy is a machine.

I was the tech lead on this project, and we worked with an outside firm to do all of the coding. Lots of beautiful rendered video and stills, all for a ship that doesnt exist yet!

IQ Thanks to Mac, Melissa, Krieger, Daryl, Jimmy, Joel, Berger, Brandon, Kenneth, Sam, Zach, Grapner, Edgardo; unmentionables (Zabo, Tim & Sabrina); and our friends in the French North, Popcode Studios (the Quebecois dev shop responsible for the coding).
